For the COVID vaccine, Phase 1B, is ASTHMA considered an eligibility?
If not, it SHOULD BE being that COPD presently is.

Thank you for your comment and I’m so sorry to hear that. I know they received a large volume of calls the moment registration opened up. Atascosa County is working on putting together a large vaccine distribution clinic in the near future. Keep your eye on our website and print edition for more information as it becomes available to us.

  3. Carmel Boedeker says:

Why can’t we in Atascosa county get enough vaccines,we are a large county, heb hasn’t had any in over a month. And not enough coverage on who is giving the covid19 vaccines.

    • Rebecca Pesqueda says:

Good morning Carmel, thank you for your comment. The Pleasanton Express has continuously published information available to us concerning the COVID vaccine including who has it in the county. At this moment in time, as we stated in a Jan. 20 article, no one in the county currently has the vaccine as they are awaiting more shipment. County Judge Bob Hurley in his column the past two weeks, and as we mentioned in the Jan. 20 issue, that he is working with state officials to do a large vaccine distribution clinic for Atascosa County at the Poteet Strawberry Festival Grounds sometime in February or March. Details have not been confirmed nor announced at this time. We at the Pleasanton Express publish information as we receive it. Please understand that it is not the county’s fault that we do not have the vaccine. The availability of the vaccine is limited due to production. If you are 65 years of age or have a serious health condition and wish to receive the vaccine, please call the County Judge’s office at 830-769-3093 and they can get you on a priority list for when the vaccine is available.

I’m sorry to hear that! They received a high volume of calls and all appointment slots were filled within 5 minutes. Atascosa County is working on a much larger distribution clinic. Please continue watching our website and print edition for more information as it is released to us.
