Workforce Solutions-Alamo (WSA) in Pleasanton is here to help you with employment solutions, resources and support services during the COVID 19 pandemic. They are currently holding a free Employment Orientation Tuesday-Friday from 3-4 p.m. via Zoom to help you learn more about jobs now, new careers and what it takes to get a higher paying job, childcare and other services for which you may qualify.
The orientation is a one-time attendance that explains everything available to you through the WSA office. Once you’ve completed the orientation, you can call the office at 830-569-4702 to speak with Career Counselor Stefanie Moore.
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) offers a variety of services once you are certified and, most importantly, provides opportunities for occupational training in one of the 60 identified in-demand occupations. The WIOA also provides one-on-one career search services through the WSA’s website at www.workintexas.com and they work with local employers to fill their job needs. WSA also has trainings, or Career Maps, available for free where you can attend virtually through Zoom and get help on creating your resume, how to tackle job interviews, marketing yourself and many others.
As a Career Counselor, Moore can provide that same help one on one. In today’s time, we are all connecting virtually. WSA’s offices are closed to the public, but they are just a phone call or Zoom meeting away and can still provide top quality service to our community.
On the employer side of things, WSA has a dedicated Business Solutions Representative who can help you set up a virtual job fair and/or post your job openings to www.workintexas.com.
If you don’t want to participate in the program, you still have access to the Career Maps program where WSA can help you look for jobs.
