Tashawan Caldwell, 26, has been charged with capital murder after she confessed to stabbing her son to death in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 8, according to the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office. Atascosa County Deputies Tim Sawicki and Tim Reinikka were dispatched to investigate. Police said the murder happened in the 500 block of Highland Loop, in a rural sub-division off Highway 16, in Poteet.
When interviewed by Chief Investigator Jake Guerra and Captain Matt Miller Caldwell allegedly confessed to killing her son, Caiden Parker. Caiden would have turned two today. Police also discovered Caldwell’s older sister and another child had locked themselves in a room to separate themselves from Caldwell. The other child was also injured.
The mother was taken into custody and booked on a $1 million bond, charged with capital murder of a child under six years old.
