County reminds residents of fire code building permits

The Atascosa County Fire Marshal’s Office reminds residents that Atascosa County has a fire code, building permits and permitting fees which are required prior to building a commercial structure in the unincorporated areas of the county.

Atascosa County is currently enforcing the 2015 Edition of NFPA 1 and NFPA 101 Codes which have been in place since before 2015.

As of May 2023, Atascosa County has an amended fee structure in place. The fee schedule and all permitting information can be found on the Atascosa County fire marshal website atascosacounty. texas.gov/page/atascosa. FireMarshal.

For questions about fire permitting, please contact the Fire Marshal’s Office at 830-769-2029. If you find that you have not followed the steps to obtain a permit, contact the office and will assist you in becoming compliant.

Those found to be not in compliance after May 1, 2023 will be assessed a penalty fee.
