At the Independent Cattlemen’s Association of Texas Board of Directors meeting held on Thursday, June 18, in Lockhart, Texas, local business and cattleman, Brad Cotton, was elected President of the Independent Cattlemen’s Association (ICA) of Texas.
Before making his way to the state level, Cotton served in several positions in the local South Central Texas ICA (SCTICA) chapter which includes Atascosa, Wilson, Karnes and Bexar counties.
Cotton served as SCTICA president for six years. In fact, Cotton was one of the original founding members of SCTICA working with A.L. “Windy” Miller since the chapter was established s in 2005.
Before becoming elected as the State President of ICA, Cotton served on the ICA Board of Directors for several years, and his most recent term as First Vice President. Cotton’s newly designated presidential term is for three years.
Cotton says his goals for ICA of Texas include continuing to build membership at the local and state levels, develop motivation in members for attending state conventions, add unique and stimulating topics to the convention program and expand social media use at the state level to include the various chapters.
