It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother, Cora Ann Salazar, entered eternal rest on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at the age of 70. Cora was born in Floresville to Albaro and Maria Gonzalez on Feb. 18, 1951.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Olga Gonzalez, Nora Gonzalez, Alice O’Neal; and brothersin law Robert O’Neal and Richard Orr.
Cora is survived by her loving husband of 51 years John Joe Salazar, Sr.; sons, Roland Salazar (Barbara), Tommy Salazar (Diana), John Joe Salazar, Jr. (Michelle); sisters Dora Orr, Cindy Gonzalez; grandchildren, Jonathan, Gabriella, Maya, John Joe III, Samuel, Shayleen, Sabrina; greatgrandchildren, Jonathan Jr., Jaythan, Alejandra, Araceli, Jayden, Samuel P.; nephew, John Lee Jahanara; her beloved dogs Buddy, Pepe, Hazel, Baby Rose and numerous other loving family and friends.
“Greasy Granny,” lovingly known to her grandchildren, loved to cook and bake. Cora had infinite love and wisdom. In her pastime, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered by her kind and humble heart by all who loved her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 29 from 4-8 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church with interment to follow at St. Andrew Cemetery #2.
