Copper theft at The Refuge

Collene Myers, Executive Director of The Refuge Atascosa Pregnancy Care Center in Pleasanton is asking for the public’s assistance.

Sometime over the weekend, thieves climbed underneath the building on West Adams Street (a manufactured home) and cut all of the copper.

“We came in on Monday and couldn’t figure out why it was staying so hot. Then we noticed the fan unit wasn’t going properly,” said Myers.

She contacted the A/C repair company, who looked at it and noticed the copper had been cut. The Pleasanton Police Department was then contacted.

Myers said it will cost $1,410 to have the necessary repairs. They still need to meet their insurance deductible of $500. She also asks that anyone who might have information about the incident to contact the Pleasanton Police Department, at 830-569-3869.

“It is really frustrating. We cannot provide for the public and help clients when we have to worry about getting things like this fixed.”
