Connie Ramos of Jourdanton, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the age of 64. She was born March 18, 1952 in Poteet to Esmerejildo and Bernarda (Calvillo) Tijerina.
Connie was the beloved wife of Domingo Ramos, Sr., a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother (Nana) and friend to many. In addition to raising four children she helped raise her five grandchildren, who brightened her days and she loved them very much. Over the years Connie was very active with the community in various different activities. She was an active member of St. Andrew Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, religious education teacher and really enjoyed working with the church Christmas play productions. She was a Pleasanton ISD parent volunteer for many years, a girl scout leader and a Pleasanton EMS volunteer. Connie is survived by her loving husband, Domingo Ramos, Sr.; children, Delma Ramos Friedman, Lee Ramos, Karen West and husband Stephen, Domingo Ramos, Jr. and wife Cindy Ramos, siblings: Esabel Tijerina, Chris Tijerina, Domingo Tijerina, Victoria Esparza, Ester Hancock, Esmerejildo Tijerina, Jr. and David Tijerina. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Theresa Friedman, James West, Stephen West, Noah Ramos and Neal Ramos as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Esmerejildo and Bernarda Tijerina and siblings, Raymond Tijerina, Jesse Tijerina and Julia Tijerina.
Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 2 – 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment followed at Charlotte Community Cemetery.
