Connie Bernice Nixon, 68, passed away on May 14, 2020. She was born on March 5, 1952, in Pearsall to parents Woodrow Shoemake and Rosalee Jenkins Shoemake.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents Woodrow “Woody” Shoemake and Rosalee Jenkins Shoemake; her daughter, Heather Michelle Nixon; and her sister, Vickie Eichman.
Connie is survived by her husband, Eddie Nixon; son, Wesley Nixon and wife Lisa Nixon; daughter, Megan Smith and husband Thommy Smith; brother-inlaw, Randy Eichman; sisters, Margie Koehler and Estelle Harrison; and grandchildren, Emily Nixon, Jacob Nixon, Elizabeth Nixon, Trey Smith, and Leo Smith. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Connie was a faith-filled woman who loved everyone she ever met. She served the Jourdanton schools for almost 30 years as a teacher, coach and assistant principal. She has left this world a better place and touched the hearts of all her family and students.
A visitation was held on Monday, May 18, from 2-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel located at 118 W. Oaklawn Road, Pleasanton. Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, at the First Baptist Church in Charlotte, located at 173 Yule Avenue, Charlotte, interment followed at Pearsall Cemetery in Pearsall.
