Coke Jose Saenz of Jourdanton passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the age of 53. He was a lifelong resident of Jourdanton and member of St. Matthews Catholic Church. Coke was a very caring, loving husband & father who had great faith in God. Coke was a hard worker who always made sure his family was provided for. He worked until his health forced him to retire in 2012. Even after his retirement he still watched out for his family and made sure all was well with them. He taught his sons to be respectful and to always help others and taught them by his example to be hard workers. Coke loved to watch wrestling and it was a true bonding between father and sons. He loved to spend time with his family and BBQ and made the best brisket. Coke volunteered many hours helping out at the church’s booth at the Strawberry Festival.
Coke was preceded in death by his grandparents, Macario & Lorena Flores; his brother, Alfred Saenz and mother-in-law & father in law, Lee & Barbara Amador.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Hilda and two sons, Aaron Jose Saenz and Jacob Eliborio Saenz; father, Oscar H. Saenz and wife Cyndi; mother, Angie F. Saenz ; grandmother, Elena Saenz; sister, Angie Ann Lugo; brothers, Oscar H Saenz Jr. and wife Michelle and Jason D Saenz and wife Melissa, and sister, Caitlyn Saenz. Coke is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and all the cousins he grew up with and considered brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton on Wednesday, June 6 from 3- 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1700 Campbell Lane in Jourdanton on Thursday, June 7 at 10 a.m. Serving as pallbearers for Coke’s service will be: Aaron Saenz, Jacob Saenz, Adam Ochoa, Trey Hernandez, Oscar H. Saenz Jr., Ysidro Reyes Jr., Eloy Alvarado, Jerry Coronado and Jennifer Ochoa.
