Coastal Bend College and Workforce Solutions Alamo teaming up to serve community

Coastal Bend College (CBC)and Workforce Solutions AlamoWFA) are teaming up at CBC, offering training and education in this region of the Eagle Ford Shale.

Dr. Beatriz Espinoza, President, Coastal Bend College, said, “I am very pleased to be celebrating an incredible partnership between Workforce Solutions Alamo (WFA) and Coastal Bend College (CBC) that serves multiple purposes and saves taxpayer dollars. As non-profit agencies with responsibilities in the workforce, it is imperative that we leverage our talents and resources to benefit the local communities we serve.

“Texas is in an excellent position to have jobs for workers. Our partnership will help us as a training and education provider to train for the types of jobs that provide livable wages, soft skills, and community awareness and contributions while WFA has the expertise in job readiness, career intelligence, along with interviewing and job placement support. Together, we can and will do more for Atascosa County and its surrounding communities.

“The services for both WFA and CBC are open to the public, please come see us if you are seeking college training that is short term, at the certificate level or associate degree and we will align you with WFA to get the job that works for you. By working together we are building sustainable communities in the most efficient and effective way possible. We are part of the solution to student success, employee success, and employer success and satisfaction.”

Natalie O’Connor, Deputy Director of Workforce Solutions Operations said,“We are excited to deepen our partnership with Coastal Bend College in Pleasanton, TX by collocating in the same building. Historically, Workforce Solutions Alamo has coordinated with Coastal Bend College by assisting eligible students with payment for training and training related costs, job search assistance, and other support services needed to obtain and maintain employment.

“By collocating, Pleasanton job seekers have a one stop shop for their education and job search needs. We look forward to assisting Pleasanton job seekers with their employment and educational goals.”

Gail Hathaway, WFA Executive Director said, We are happy to be in partnership with Coastal Bend College. Now that we’re under the same roof, we are like family. We look forward to contributing to the success of the Pleasanton community through the workforce education and training programs we offer.”
