City residents may begin setting our their bulk trash and brush beginning the weekend of April 20, in preparation for the city wide pick up which begins May 20. Items must be placed out no later than May 17, to be included in this pick up. Residents are not required to call City Hall to be put on a list as this will be a city-wide pick up. Guideline rules may be picked up at City Hall. This is now a twice a year event with the next city-wide pick up scheduled for November 1, 2013.
The city would also like to inform all residents that once again during this collection cycle we will have city workers pick up old tires, batteries, used motor oil and other petroleum, based products (maximum 5 gallon containers). These items can also be placed curbside but must be kept separate from all regular collection items as the contractors who will be handling collection of regular items will not remove these items if they are not kept apart from each other, We urge all residents to use this opportunity to clean up their yards of excess materials while helping our city to be the cleanest it can be.
Also, they would like to take this opportunity to inform everyone that the current City of Jourdanton bulk collection site has now begun charging a small fee for drop off of brush/bulk materials.
The site is located at the 400 block of Beech Street, three blocks off of State Highway 16 and one block south of State Highway 97. They ask that you please help with this transition by spreading the word to your neighbors while also keeping your eyes out for future notification in this publication, your city water bill as well as the city marquee located at the intersection of State Highway 97 and State Highway 16.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our city clean and beautiful.
