City of Jourdanton residents may begin setting their bulk trash and brush beginning the weekend of October 18 in preparation for citywide pickup which begins November 1.
Items must be placed out no later than November 1 to be included in this pickup which is the final of the two which were scheduled for this year. Residents are not required to call City Hall to be put on a list as this will be a citywide pickup.
All items must be placed as close to, but not in the street, as possible. They should also be kept away from fences, autos, mailboxes, power lines and all other obstructions. Further guideline rules may be picked up at the front counter of city hall. This is now a twice a year event with the next citywide pickup scheduled for May 1, 2014.
We would also like to inform all residents that once again during this collection cycle we will have city workers pick up old tires, batteries, used motor oil and other petroleum based products (maximum 5 gallon containers) which can also be placed curbside.
These items must be kept separate from all regular items as the contractors will not remove them if they are combined.
We urge all residents to use this opportunity to clean up their yards and empty properties of excess materials while helping our city to be the best and cleanest it can be.
Also we would like to take this opportunity to inform all residents that the bulk waste collection site located at the 400 block of Beech has now been closed.
We ask that you please help us with this transition by spreading the word to your friends and neighbors while also keeping your eyes out for future notifications in this publication, your city water bill, as well as the city marquee located at the intersection of state highways 97 and 16.
Thank you for your help and cooperation in helping to keep our city clean and beautiful.
