Taste of Atascosa

If you are looking for something to do for dinner check out the Taste of Atascosa and enjoy some of the countie’s finest cuisine, as the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce brings back The Taste of Atascosa. Join the chamber tomorrow, June 26 at the Pleasanton Civic Center from 6-9 pm. Admission is $10 per person and includes samplings from fine local chefs and cooks. The event will also include live music and an auction.

Jourdanton Library Salad Luncheon

The Friends of the Jourdanton Community Library will be holding their annual Salad Luncheon and Silent Auction tomorrow, June 26th from 11 am to 1 pm. There will be a wide variety of different salads to sample, the cost is only $8.00 per person for all you can eat.

St. Rose of Lima Picnic

Have fun this Sunday at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church annual picnic. Barbeque brisket and sausage plates will be served at 11 a.m. Plates will be sold for $7. Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. with Monsignor John A. Wagner as presider.

The afternoon will be filled with games, raffle, bingo, a Country Store, food booths, a big auction starting at 1 p.m. and a dance by Grupo a Puro Golpe at 8 p.m.

Cinema in the Park

Grab a blanket and the kids and head out to the 2nd Cinema in the Park. Saturday, June 28th The Pleasanton Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is hosting the free event starting at dusk. “Wreck it Ralph” will be shown at the Little League ball diamond out field at the Atascosa River Park.

Main Street Outreach Ministry VBS

If you are looking for something for the kids to do, Main Street Outreach Ministry is hosting their Vacation Bible School Sunday, June 29th – Thursday, July 3rd. The five night adventure will begin at 6pm and end at 8:15pm. The theme is “Gangway to Galilee” and is open for children 5-12 years old. If you have any questions please call 830- 281-3009. The Outreach Ministry is located at 420 Johnson St. in Pleasanton.

American Pride Day

The 4th of July weekend is fast approaching and you don’t want to miss the American Pride Day held at the Jourdanton City Park. Admission is free and the event is Friday, July 4th from 5pm -10pm. The event will include entertainment all evening, activities for the kids, face painting and kids games. Free soft drinks, hot dogs, popcorn, pickles and chips will be served while supplies last. The band River City Kings will perform. The evening will end with a fireworks show at 9 pm.

Brush Country Youth Rodeo Association

The fourth of five youth rodeos will be held Friday, June 27th at Cowboy Fellowship. Roping and speed events will be held. Stop by and check it out. Also don’t miss all the coverage in our special section pages 6 and 7C.
