Cindy Sue (Schupp) Daffinee joined her Lord on June 1, 2021, in San Antonio. She was born on November 28, 1966, in San Antonio, to Melvin R. Schupp and Bernice Hicks Schupp. Cindy was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother and her beloved husband of 28 years, Dean Daffinee. She also leaves behind her sister, Phyllis Hagan; brothers, Richard Schupp (Kathy), Wallace Schupp (Rita), Willie Schupp (Alley); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cindy fought a courageous battle with cancer for six years. Cindy loved her Lord and Savior Jesus whom she praised and leaned on. Her husband, family and friends were the light of her life and she made sure to show up for them whenever she could. Cindy never met a stranger and was quick to smile and befriend others. Her zest for life and sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Cindy was the longest tenured employee at La Cantera Resort, beginning employment there before the hotel was completed in 1999. Cindy formed many lasting friendships through her work. Pallbearers are Ed Harding, Chad Heilesen, Robert Hicks, Daniel Losoya, Michael Santos, Jeff Starr, Scott Watts, Jeremy Wendell and honorary pallbearer Anthony Cherone.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 6, 2021, from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral services were on Monday, June 7, 2021, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home chapel, followed by interment (for immediate family) at Old Rock Cemetery in Somerset. The service was officiated by John Free. Eulogy was presented by Michelle Gates Harding.
