Christine will host its 59th annual Christine Homecoming turkey dinner and celebration this Sunday, Nov. 10 at St. Ignatius Catholic Hall.
Everyone is invited to share in the celebration, which has served as a fundraiser for community projects and has offered past and present residents a chance to renew ties with family, friends and classmates since the 1960s.
Last year’s proceeds provided $500 scholarships to six Christine-area college students. Over the past six years, the fund has contributed $36,300 to local students who are furthering their educations.
This year’s reunion with feature crafts, a silent auction, and a raffle featuring a colorful quilt created by Christine native Lovona Howard. Entertainment will include a roping in the community arena, weather permitting. Roping books open at 11:30 a.m., with draw at 12:30. Ropers can contact Marissa Johnson at 850-398-2225 for additional roping information.
Mark your calendars now to come home to Christine. Serving begins at 10:30 a.m. All plates are $10 and include turkey, dressing, and all the trimmings, including tea and homemade desserts.
