The Charlotte baseball team closed the first half of district play undefeated after a pair of wins last week.
The Trojans downed Falls City 5-0 and La Pryor 20-3 to move to 4-0 in District 30-2A with four games to go.
Jevon Santos threw a gem for Charlotte in the team’s win April 3 against the Beavers. The junior had 12 strikeouts and allowed no runs on two hits with two walks.
The Trojans broke up a scoreless game in the fifth en route to the shutout win.
After a sacrifice bunt by Randy Martinez put runners on second and third, Mario Campos brought home the first run on a sac fly. Max Rowland, who advanced to third base on Campos’ sacrifice, scored on a wild pitch during the next at-bat.
Up 2-0, Charlotte extended the lead with four consecutive hits to open the sixth. Damien Cruz had a run-scoring double, and Brandon Sanchez followed with an RBI single.
Sanchez and Rowland each had two hits for the Trojans, who totaled seven for the game.
Charlotte cruised past La Pryor on the road Friday in five innings.
The Trojans out-hit the Bulldogs 9-4 and also took advantage of six errors.
Sanchez picked up the win, allowing three earned runs on four hits with six strikeouts and six walks.
Charlotte built an 18-1 lead after three innings, including a nine-run third.
Campos and Jesse Cantu each had a team-high three RBIs. Cantu went 3 for 4 with a double, and Campos was 1 for 4.
Rowland went 2 for 2 with one RBI, and Christian Lascano was 1 for 2 with one RBI.
The Trojans also drew 11 walks.
Charlotte entered Tuesday’s non-district matchup against Port Aransas at 14-5-2 overall. The results were not available at press time. The Trojans return to 30-2A action Friday against Sabinal.
