Charlotte middle schooler arrested for threats to shootFree Access

Atascosa County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a 13-year-old Charlotte Middle School student for making a threat to “shoot up the school”.

On Thursday, March 1, deputies were dispatched to Charlotte Middle School where students had reported that the threats had been made a few days earlier. According to the students, the suspect made specific threats to shoot up the school and kill people. When deputies interviewed the suspect, he admitted to making the threats. The juvenile suspect was arrested and charged with Terroristic Threats, a felony. Sheriff David Soward stated that in addition to the Terroristic Threat, the juvenile was also charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon in connection with an incident in January at the school where the juvenile allegedly pulled a knife on another student.

Sheriff Soward stated the juvenile was turned over to Atascosa County Juvenile authorities where he is still being detained following a Detention Hearing on Monday
