On May 20, Deputy Sheriff Joe Saucedo investigated a burglary of a habitation in the 10,000 block of TX Highway 173, northwest of Jourdanton.
The homeowner reported several firearms had been stolen from the property.
According to Sheriff David Soward, sheriff’s investigators who had been investigating a string of burglaries north and west of Jourdanton and in the Charlotte area had directed their attention to a 21 year old Charlotte man who had been arrested and booked into the Atascosa County Jail for Sexual Assault on a Child. Adam Daniel Sambrano of the 100 block of Madero Street had been arrested on March 23 by Sergeant Investigator Albert Garza after an investigation involving allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct with a minor.
Lieutenant Investigator Max Peralta charged Sambrano a few days later with Burglary of a Habitation in connection with the May 2014 burglary. Investigators are still conducting their investigation into the whereabouts of the stolen firearms.
Bond on Sambrano on the Sexual Assault charge was set at $75,000 and $40,000 on the Burglary of a Habitation by Justice of the Peace Jackie Bodden. Sheriff Soward said that Sambrano remains in the Atascosa County Jail in lieu of bond.
