CHARLES LOCKE

Charles Allen Locke was born on December 27, 1951, to Royal and Eleanor Locke. Charles was raised in Jourdanton on his family’s cattle ranch. From a young age, Charles was a hard worker and even built his first pole barn at the age of 13.

Shortly after graduation, Charles began teaching shop at Somerset High School and later Roosevelt High School. Charles met his wife Rhonda in 1978 and they were married in 1979 at First Baptist Church in Poteet. Charles left teaching and began Insurance Claims Adjusting and later became Vice President of Claims for Texas Select Insurance Company. In 2010, Charles started his own company, Locke Construction that is still run and operated by his son, Alan, today.

Charles was a faithful member and deacon at Madison Hills Baptist Church where he loved to serve others. He enjoyed grilling for the church picnic and was often found doing various projects around the church. Most importantly, Charles put his faith in Jesus and found joy in helping others.

Charles loved to sing, hunt, fish and cook, but nothing made him happier than spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
