Charles H. (Bud) Dunkin, 88, of San Antonio passed away on May 8, 2021. He was born on June 14, 1932, in Bigfoot to Charlie and Ellie Dunkin.

Charles (Bud) was a Godfearing man that loved his family fiercely and spent every chance he had either hunting or fishing. He served in the US Army for two years. He was a member of the Freer Rifle and Pistol Club and won many rifle competitions and awards. Bud and Maurene have been members of Shearer Hills Baptist Church in San Antonio for 46 years where Bud served as a Deacon. Bud loved fiddle music and enjoyed attending Texas State Championship Fiddlers Frolics in Hallettsville each year.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie R. Dunkin and Ellie E. Crawford Dunkin, brother Russell S. Dunkin and infant brother Roy L. Dunkin.

Bud is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Maurene Dunkin; son Ron Dunkin and his wife Chris; daughter Kathryn Smith and her husband Jerry; grandchildren Stephanie Gould and her husband Max, Shawn Dunkin, Breanna Smith, and Jerry Smith III; great-grandchildren John Hodge and his wife Selena, and Tray Hodge; He is also survived by his brother Wayman Dunkin.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 14, 2021, at Shearer Hills Baptist Church 12615 San Pedro Ave. San Antonio, TX 78216. Interment will follow at the Sand Branch Cemetery in Kyote. The service will be live-streamed for those unable to attend at
