Diez y Seis celebrations will be taking place on Saturday, Sept. 16, at St. Andrew Catholic Church and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
The parish of St. Andrew in Pleasanton will hold their 6th annual celebration at the Parish Hall. This year’s Queen candidates are Aubrianna Carver, Marina Elizabeth Gene George and Samantha Elizabeth Shows. Admission is free.
The doors at St. Andrew’s Parish Hall will open at 6 p.m. The dance will begin at 8 p.m. featuring the music of Los Cazadores. The coronation is scheduled for 9 p.m. Enchilada plates with rice, beans, a tamale and tortillas will sell for $7 each. There will also be a silent auction and menudo, pan dulce and chalupas available for purchase. All funds raised will go towards the hall renovation fund.
Young ladies Emilie Ramon and Emily Barba are the two reina candidates for the Diez Y Seis celebration at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Charlotte. They have been hard at work raising funds for the church. St. Rose of Lima will hold its annual Diez Y Seis celebration on Saturday, September 16, with Mass at 5 p.m. with coronation of the Diez Y Seis reina. It will be followed by a dance, food booths and bingo. Emilie Ramon is the daughter of Jacob and Melinda Ramon. Emily Barba is the daughter of Anna Barba.
The public is invited to attend these celebrations.
