Caroline Garza

Caroline Zepeda Garza was born May 17, 1948 in Poteet and went to be with our Lord on September 17, 2017.

Services were held September 25, 2017.  Visitation was at M.E. Rodriguez Funeral Home in San Antonio from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. A chapel service was held on Tuesday September 26, 2017 at 10 a.m. with interment at San Fernando Cemetery #3 in San Antonio.

Caroline is preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Domitilia Zepeda and brother Richard Zepeda.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years Daniel Garza; children Veronica Figueroa, Juan Daniel Garza Jr., George Garza and 10 grandchildren; brothers Roger and Antonia Zepeda of Pleasanton, Raymond and Mary Frances of Jourdanton; sisters Mary Bernal of San Antonio, Stella and Roger Contreras of Las Cruces, New Mexico, twin sister Connie Gibson of Campbellton and many nieces and nephews.

Caroline was loved and will be dearly missed.

Caroline was raised in Campbellton and graduated from Pleasanton after graduating she moved to San Antonio where she married and had her family.

Caroline served in the Awana children’s program for at least 17 years and she was a guardian of children.

She had a high level of discernment and was a confident and “safe” counselor.

She did after-school tutoring at San Juan Homes.

She was a tremendous prayer warrior and a teller of truth.

My God, I give you thanks from a grateful heart because: 

You saw me when I didn’t see you.

You knew me when I knew you not.

You heard my cries when I was alone,

and you forgot me not.

You saved me from my despair when

no one else seemed to care.

You gave me hope so I would be able to cope.

You loved me when I felt dirty and ashamed.

You said, “For what others have done to you, you are not to blame.”

You carried me when I was weak because my world looked so bleak.

You freed me from the bondage of hate and brought me to the Light of My Fate.

 You gave me the grace to forgive and said, 

“Now you can really live.”

I give you my love, my will and my heart because

you mended my broken heart.
