Byron Lester Hensch, of Poteet, passed away at home early Friday morning, October 8, 2021, with his wife and children at his side, after a battle with complications caused by cancer.

Byron was born in Cedar Rapids, IA, to the late Robert and Mary Hensch. He was a loving, faithful husband of 66 years to Rosalie, who is still living in Poteet. He was also a dedicated, loving father to their three children: Scott Alan Hensch of Selma, Dawn Hensch Snow of Myrtle, MO, and Dana Hensch Owens of Boerne. He was a loving grandfather to five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was a structural engineer in San Antonio from 1960 to 2006. An avid amateur photographer, he opened a photographic store and gallery on Broadway.

He was admired for his quick wit, sharp intellect and talents. He is and always will be loved.

Services will be held at Camero Funeral Home in Von Ormy, on Thursday, October 21, from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local spay and neuter animal clinic in his name.
