Buy the shoes

Imagine you are walking into Macy’s to use the bathroom. We all do it, and if you say don’t, then you’re lying. You successfully pass the fragrance and cosmetic departments, dodging the free samples and free makeovers that are shoved in your face. Now … you pass the clothing department and spot a blouse out of the corner of your eye. You take a split second to look at it then carry on toward the escalators. Before you jump on, you see it. That Michael Kors purse you’d been eyeing for quite some time. You shake your head in disappointment, knowing you shouldn’t, but you can’t help yourself. You get sucked in. Before you know it, you’re in the shoe department holding a pair of sparkly booties in your hand and think to yourself, “Do I really need these?”

Girl … buy the friggin’ shoes!

When is the last time you took care of yourself? Took the time to truly pamper yourself? And I’m not just talking about a day off from work, time away from your phone, family, children or even your closest friends. I’m talking getting your hair and/or nails done, getting a professional massage, a facial … buying that pair of shoes?

Recently, I noticed a former high school classmate, Megan Morales, constantly posting about this place called Adari Spa that recently opened up in Pleasanton. I followed her posts for about a month and finally decided to book myself a Signature Hydrafacial. I honestly had no idea what I was in for, but I knew two things: it sounded wonderful, and my skin needed a good boost. I walked into Adari Spa last Wednesday morning and was greeted by Megan at the front desk. Then it was facial time! MariLu Bowen, the owner of Adari Spa, did my hydrafacial and she was absolutely wonderful. She explained to me every single step of the process beforehand and was so professional yet in a comforting way. (I won’t lie, I’m pretty sure I dozed off for a minute or two during the facial. That’s how relaxing it was!) Once MariLu was done, my face instantly felt incredible and it still does to this day! She and Megan explained my “next steps” for the remainder of the week and provided me with goodies to sample at home.

Self-care is extremely important to remember, especially in this crazy busy world we live in. And how cool is it that we have our very own SPA right here in Pleasanton? They offer a variety of facials, hair services, massages, waxing, eye lash services … the list goes on. Be sure to check them out at www.adarispa.com or give them a call at 830-268-8653.

A fellow Adari Spa customer said it best: “To take care of yourself on the outside is important, but to mentally take care of yourself is way more important. Putting your needs up there with other people’s is good, being selfless is good, but you still have to take care of yourself.”

So, what are you waiting for? Buy the shoes!
