Welcomed in the arms of Jesus, Burnie J. Mazur, born October 28, 1936 to Burnie A. and Bessie Mazur, passed December 21, 2016 in Pleasanton, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mildred Mazur, of Pleasanton; son, Scott Mazur and wife Debbie of Rockport; brothers, Edward Mazur and wife Evelyn of Orange Grove, and Willie Mazur and wife Sarah of Pleasanton, and sisters, Doris Burrier of Elmendorf, and Ruby Sweeney of Dinero. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kandice Butler of Houston, and Taelor Butler of San Antonio, one great-grandchild that is on the way and fifteen nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and friends.
Burnie worked the oilfields most of his life, traveling from West Texas to South Texas following the oil booms.
Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, Pleasanton, from 9 – 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2016. A funeral service was held at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Interment followed at Jourdanton City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Jimmy Polasek, Louie Johnston, Randy Mazur, Mike Sewell, Daryl Richey and Andy Joslin.
