Brush, bulky trash pick up set for July

Brush and bulky trash pick-up for the City of Pleasanton is coming up in mid-July throughout late July.

Pick up for Area 1 will be from July 16-20. This is for the area west of Bryant Street and North of Goodwin Street. Curbside placement for this area starts July 2.

Area 2 pick up is set for July 23-27 for the area west of Highway 281 to Bryant Street and south of Goodwin. Curbside placement starts July 9 for Area 2.

Area 3 pick up starts July 30-August 3 for the areas east of Highway 281 and north of Coughran Road. Curbside placement starts on July 16 for Area 3.

Beginning Monday, July 18, the residents of Pleasanton will have the opportunity to rid themselves of their unwanted junk that has been meandering in the garage all summer long. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.

The Community Development Services Department reminds everyone to please keep in mind the following rules:

•Trash shall not be placed at curbside more than two weeks prior to the pick-up dates as stated above. No exemption. You will be subject to a citation if placed earlier than the two weeks.

•Trash shall not be more than 10 cubic yards piles per Residential Unit; additional charges will apply if more than 10 cubic feet (Length x Width x Height = 270 cubic feet = 10 cubic yards)

• Items excluded from pick-up are: hazardous waste, dead animals, tires, oils, chemicals, special waste in piles for pick-up.

• Trash shall be placed away from any obstacle that will prevent pick-up such as overhead power lines and low branches.

• Residents wanting to combine piles of bulky waste shall notify the Community Development Services Dept. This will prevent additional charges for having more than 10 cubic yards at a single location, or if any special arrangement needs to be made.

Brush/bulky trash shall and must be placed at curbside prior to your scheduled start date. Residents will be given citation if not complied.
