City of Poteet

The City of Poteet provides bi-annual bulk pickup services. The next bulk pick up will be March 20-24.

The start dates to put items out is March 13 and the end date to put out items is March 17.

Pickup rules are stated under the Quick Reference section. Stumps and logs “must be larger” than four (4) inches in diameter and stacked neatly by curbside. Brush piles will not be picked up but stumps and logs over (4) inches will be allowed during this event. Republic Services will not pick up any commingled brush, metal, or bulk objects.

Items not placed out before Friday, March 17 will not be picked up. Piles placed in areas that the truck cranes cannot reach will not be picked up. Any resident placing bulky items out either prior to or after the authorized dates will be issued a municipal court summons for violating the city ordinance.

If you miss the scheduled bulk pickup, you may contact Republic Services at (210) 304-2700 to schedule a pickup for a nominal fee. Items must be placed at the curb in front of your residence only (not on street, alley, or side of residence).

Keep all bulk items separated two feet from stumps/logs and especially scrap iron, wire, metal, etc, to avoid equipment damage. Do not place bulk items near fences, mail boxes, water meters, telephone pedestals, fire hydrants, under trees or other low hanging lines as the waste truck cannot safely pick up items there.

Remove gasoline/oil/ propane/butane from items being discarded, (i.e. lawn mowers, small engines, barbecue pits, gas cans, etc).
