Our beloved son, Brian Wesley Agnew, age 37, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018 with his family at his side. Brian was a wonderful, loving young man full of curiosity and energy. He was born in Houston on January 5, 1981, but the family moved to Pleasanton in 1987, where he was raised. He graduated from Pleasanton High School in 2000.
Brian had a creative talent for art and music, and a passion for playing the drums. With an all- around musical aptitude, he also mastered the guitar and piano. He played by ear and, inspired by Charlie Brown and the Peanuts Gang, the first song he taught himself on the piano was “Linus and Lucy”, the Peanuts theme song by Vince Guaraldi. As a young adult, he devoted his life to God, and continuously worked to develop a closer relationship with Him. He devoted much of his time to in-depth Bible study and strove to be an example of Christ’s love to others. He sincerely believed that his artistic and musical talents were a gift from God. He was a friendly, outgoing man with a beautiful smile and a kind heart who never met a stranger. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
Brian is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Jodie Agnew; his step-brother, Clinton Newman and his maternal grandparents, Calvin and Billie Hargis.
He is survived by his son, Kaden Agnew; his mother Merry Howard Blackmon; father, Bill Agnew and wife, Debbie; brother, Joseph Agnew and wife, Ty; step-brothers Robby Newman and fiancé Texana Woodward; Tye Newman and wife, Kacie; nephews Clark Agnew and Rylin Newman, along with other numerous relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 8 at 3 p.m. at Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church, 601 W. Creek Street, Fredericksburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: Boys and Girls Club of Fredericksburg, 808 N. Llano, Fredericksburg, TX 78624 or The Pleasanton Eagle Band Boosters, c/o: Pleasanton ISD, 831 Stadium Dr., Pleasanton, TX 78064.
