Benito Leal

Our dear brother was a quiet man with a big heart and a warm story to share given the opportunity.  On Wednesday, March 28th the physical heart of Benito C. Leal stopped and he passed away at the age of 74.

Ben enjoyed the company of friends and family but most of all participating in the ministry as a publisher and elder of the local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He had been a dedicated servant of Jehovah since the age of 10. He loved to travel and had the opportunity to go to Mexico City (Mexico), Moscow (Russia), Warsaw (Poland), Paris (France), Madrid (Spain), Prague (Czech Republic), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina), San Juan (Puerto Rico), New York (New York) and Los Angeles (California) as a delegate of international conventions. He worked as a stone mason, concrete finisher for Acme Bridge and 23 years at San Miguel Electric.

Ben was the third of eight children born to Manuel Sanchez Leal and Josefina Char Leal. He was preceded in death by both parents and sister, Stella Leal. He is survived by six siblings, Jose E. (Rosa Leal), Maria Adelina, Manuel Rogerio (Mary Esther), Ernesto C. (Bertha), Irene and Nathan Leal (Adriana). Ben is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, April 7 at 2 p.m. at the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 1524 W. Goodwin, Pleasanton.
