The Pleasanton and Jourdanton Police Departments raised a record $6,247 during their 5th Annual Tip-A-Cop Event on Oct. 23. Officers from both departments stood at the intersection of Hwy 97 and Airport Blvd. in front of Chili’s in Pleasanton during the lunch hours of 11 a.m.-2 p.m. collecting monetary donations from passersby. All funds raised during the event go toward finding a cure for childhood cancer at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
This is the fifth year in a row that Chili’s Manager Jennifer Alaniz has hosted the event. Last year, the event raised $4, with Jourdanton PD coming out over Pleasanton PD. This year, the two departments raised the bar by raising a total of $6,247 with Pleasanton PD coming out with the win with $3,431.55. Jourdanton PD was just shy of $3,000. Both police departments along with the staff at Chili’s wish to extend a huge thanks to everyone for their generous donations during the event and are already looking forward to next year’s event.
