On Saturday, Dec. 15, the Charlotte community came together as a family for plenty of basketball fun. This family consisted of 12 girls, two boys, four moms, two local pastors and one ministry leader.
The Basketball Clinic leadership team led by Martha Brymer, Scott Mancha, Earl Peterson, and Dallas Owen did a super job of teaching the kids basic skills .
Martha circled the kids and shared her personal relationship with God. T-shirts were given, trophies awarded, pizza and drinks devoured, and smiling faces were evident as Bob Byrd passed out a certificate of completion to each participant.
Byrd also shared the importance of making a decision for Christ and shared a pamphlet with the kids (Seven Minutes With God) and a challenge to give God seven minutes a day to help them live lives that honor God.
The next clinic will be in Lytle.
The Navigators under Bob Byrd’s direction will be hosting an Atascosa County Basketball Clinic for 12-15 year old boys and girls in 2019.
Basic skills will be emphasized with timed events and team challenges. If you are interested in helping, please call Bob Byrd (The Byrdman) at 210-896-5525.
Special thanks to Charlotte Coach Sean Vowell for working out the many details of the clinic.
