Awana Clubs at First Baptist

First Baptist Church in Pleasanton will begin its children’s Awana Clubs scripture memory and Bible study ministry Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. at 400 N. Reed St. All children in kindergarten through the fifth grade are welcome.

Awana Clubs consists of three 30-minute segments of musical worship, handbook time with scripture memory and games. There are two age groupings. Sparks is for children in kindergarten through second grade and Truth and Training (T&T) is for children in third through fifth grade. Children are dismissed to parents in the church sanctuary at 7:30 p.m.

There is no fee for participating in Awana clubs, but there is an atcost charge for the study book. There are also club T-shirts and vests available for purchase, but they are not required.

You may register your child in the church foyer at 5:45 p.m. prior to the 6 p.m. start time. Children and workers are asked to wear masks. There will be hand sanitation stations in the foyer and key locations by the classrooms and game room.

The name Awana comes from the first letter of each word in the scripture “Approved workmen are not ashamed,” from II Timothy 2:15. For more information or to volunteer, contact John Coleman at First Baptist Church at 830-569-2582.
