Atascosa Soil and Water District recognized for 75 years of service




The Atascosa County Soil and Water Conservation District #307 of Pleasanton, was recognized and awarded a plaque for 75 years of service. The District was certified by the Secretary of State of the State of Texas on June 29, 1940. Original directors were Henry Shearrer Sr., John Temple; John Lytle Tom Sr., Henry Schorsch, Sr. and Henry Thane.

The Soil and Water Conservation District is a Governmental Political Subdivision of the State of Texas and assists persons who own or operate land within Atascosa County to meet their land management goals.

The plaque was awarded at the 75th Annual Meeting of District Directors, October 26-28 at Corpus Christi. Attending the meeting were Chairman of the Board Michael Korus; District Clerk/ Technician Sherry Orsak and NRCS District Conservationist Natalie Bartek.
