In the true spirit of Thanksgiving, Democrat County Chairwoman Julie Hilberg and Republican County Chairman Wayne Vaughn are co-hosting a free Thanksgiving Day Dinner for any residents of Atascosa County. This is a bi-partisan, non-political event.
The City of Jourdanton has donated the use of their Community Center at 1101 Campbell Ave., across from the Sheriff’s Department in Jourdanton.
They are currently in need of donations and volunteers. Donations may be mailed to the address listed below or call either chairman for more information. Also, donations may be made in the form of H-E-B or Walmart gift cards.
The estimated number of meals to be served is approximately 500. To-go meals may be reserved for families with a family member who is unable to attend in person.
Due to social distancing, reservations must be made for either in-person or togo meals. Reservations are limited to eight plates.
Serving times are 12 noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. To-go pick-up is 1-3 p.m.
Volunteers are needed on Wednesday, Nov. 24 and Thursday, Nov. 25.
