I want to give you an update on my situation, personally. I did test positive for COVID-19. I never had any symptoms, but I did the required quarantine and required thermometer checks. I did continue my court benchwork by Zoom and the state “E-File” court system. I received my county emails at home. I attended a Poteet City Council Meeting by Zoom and ran my AACOG committee responsibilities by Zoom. I attended and ran Commissioners Court by Zoom. I stayed in communication with the commissioners. But, it was so sweet when my quarantine was over and I could go to work. I thank God for no symptoms and all of my family and staff testing negative for the virus. The three cities of Jourdanton, Pleasanton and Poteet have ratified the interlocal contracts to move forward with the tri-city transit program. The vendor, AACOG, has initially given it the name “Cowboy Connect.” Since we want this to eventually be a transportation system for the entire county, I would like to solicit ideas from our citizens for ideas for two things. First, I would like ideas for the name that reflects the entire county transportation concept. Secondly, I would like ideas for a design and color scheme for the shuttles that reflects the name that is selected. Please send your ideas to my email: countyjudge@ atascosacounty.texas.gov. We will recognize the winning suggestion(s) in Commissioners Court. We are very close to getting this done and I am very excited about all the potential benefits for Atascosa County citizens.

Thank you for listening.
We want you to be proud of your county government.
