Last week, I gave a date for the grand opening celebration of JP3, but need to change it to February 14 at 11 a.m. Judge Carrasco and I have collaborated, and that will work much better for his staff and give them a little more time to get settled. We will have finger foods, and I believe Judge Carrasco is providing a cake. We will also do tours of the new Truck Weigh Station which should be complete by then.
Jessica Tom is sponsoring a “Meet The Candidates” night on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m. for Precinct 4 candidates. It will be in Campbellton at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 365 St. Francis Ave. If renovation schedules allow, it may be moved to the Campbellton Hall. I will be giving an update on County-Wide Voting and its impact on voting in Atascosa County. The invited candidates are Sheriff – David Soward, Rick Luna and Tina Egelston, and Constable, Precinct 4 – Bill Meadows, David Douglas and Rex Newman Jr.
Please register to vote. The last day to register is Monday, Feb. 3. Study all candidates on the ballot. Your informed actions as a voter are critical to the future of our city, county, state and federal governments.

Thank you for listening.
We want you to be proud of your county government.
