Atascosa Citizens in Action will meet at the Pleasanton Civic Center, Thursday, August 20, from 1:15 until 2:15 p.m.
Pleasanton City Librarian, Dorothy Steelman, will bring us up-to-date on progress with Funding Information Network (FIN) for foundation help with grant procurements.
Steelman said, “I will be able to give a brief presentation to the committee on how to get started looking for grants using the FIN network databases. I will also be giving a handout that gives “Tips for Searching” the Foundation Directory Online Professional.”
ACA is now totally enrolled in FIN. Their network databases are becoming available to ACA and we’re looking forward to doing a lot of grant work for AFCC, CASA, other non-profits, Atascosa County and cities of Charlotte, Jourdanton, Pleasanton and Poteet. Even smaller towns, Leming, Christine, Fashing- Peggy and others can solicit our help with grants.
The Institute for Economic Development at University of Texas at San Antonio assisted Atascosa County citizens in developing this grant program in the county.
UTSA’s Eagle Ford Shale Community Development Program (EFSCDP) was created in partnership with the U.S. Economic Development Administration in order to address grass roots community needs.
Atascosa County citizens are invited to attend. Their input is welcome and important in the quest for projects in the county that will enhance and enable different facets of our communities through grant solicitations.
Several projects are already being considered. Grants are possible for these endeavors.
