Atascosa Animal Allies of Pleasanton has come to the rescue again. Recently, a Pleasanton resident had 20 dogs in her possession. City ordinance states that three dogs are the legal limit inside Pleasanton. The woman recently surrendered two male dogs and a female dog (named Larry, Hamlin and Lizzie.) AAA was able to get all three dogs to rescues out of state.

There was still the issue of 15 puppies in this resident’s care. AAA assessed all 15 puppies as healthy and were able to transport them to a San Antonio rescue group. This SA rescue group will take care of the puppies and adopt them all out.

The Good Company Card Club, which is a group within AAA, raised the money to have one of the adult females spayed and vaccinated. One of AAA’s volunteers took the female to San Antonio to have the surgery and delivered her back to the owner. Now, we have arranged for her other female dog to get spayed in the Pleasanton SNAP clinic in February.

If you would like to help our community become a better place to live for the animals and residents, please consider joining the AAA group. To keep up with the activities of AAA, please follow them on Facebook under Atascosa Animal Allies or visit them at www.atascosaanimalallies.org.
