Birds, bees and trees education

 

 

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Atascosa is hosting a Birds, Bees, and Trees Education Program on May 17, at the Lone Star Lodge at 4848 Granato Road in Poteet.

Join us as we discuss tree disease, wildlife management for small acreage home owners, wildlife landscaping, management irrigation, beekeeping and more.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with the program starting at 9 a.m.

Two (2) C.E.U.’s will be offered (1 General & 1IPM). There is a fee of $20.

Atascosa Cattleman’s Association Annual Meeting

Atascosa Cattleman’s Association Annual Meeting to be held with topics to be addressed to include Pasture Management for drought and deworming cattle on July 24.

Membership is $20 a year and helps fund scholarships for local youth.

Military Family camp

Texas Courageous Family Camp is a place where military families can enjoy camp activities apart from the day-to-day challenges of military life.

The camp is a special experience that will create lifetime memories for these families. The camp program is packed with nonstop fun and all the camping can-do’s families love. Families will have the opportunity to make new friends who also deal with the stresses of military life.

The camp will include many of the fun activities provided at the 4-H Center. These may include: color run, swimming, hiking, archery, ropes course, dancing, crafts, service project for soldiers, kayaking, water sports and much more.

Registration will close on June 6.

The camp will be at the Texas 4-H Conference Center near Lake Brownwood.
