Although they may sometimes be opponents on the field of play, local schools recently came together in support of a fellow coach in need.
Coaching staffs from the area—including Pleasanton, Jourdanton and Poteet—made donations to the family of Somerset athletic director Johan Dinkelmann, who suffered two strokes in late April. Some coaches visited Dinkelmann in the hospital last week to deliver the donation in addition to a get-well card.
The coaching staffs from Devine, Lytle and Natalia also joined in the donation.
“Thanks from all of us in #BulldogNation!” Somerset ISD tweeted Thursday.
Dinkelmann, who is also defensive coordinator for the Bulldogs football team, has a son, Zadock, who plays quarterback.
