Andrew Hudson

Andrew (Drew) W. Hudson of Jourdanton passed away on April 1, 2018  at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.

Drew was born December 17, 1961 in Kenosha, WI to William F. Hudson and  Dorothy L. Hudson Leitschuh.

Drew spent many years in property maintenance using his numerous self taught skills. He was also a great cook and chef. For 18 years he worked as Operations Manager for Thomas Grass of Texas, a 300 acre sod farm. He was also instrumental in creating a commercial water business for the oil industry. He loved to fish and was an avid shooter. He had an extensive gun collection and was always intrigued by electronics. Drew suffered with many physical problems but was always positive and optimistic. He had a quick wit and a ready sense of humor. He was a man that would do anything for anybody and was a friend to all who knew him.

Drew is survived by his beloved pet and companion Haley; his brother Scott (Sandy) Hudson, sisters Devon (Richard) Schwaab, and Kristine (Joseph) Troy; his step daughters, Jamie Heye, Erin Brown, Lorrie Godfrey and their families. He is further survived by his step siblings Suzanne Torsheya, Steve (Mary) Leitschuh, the late Michael Leitschuh, Rob Leitschuh and their families; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents William F. Hudson, Dorothy L. Hudson Leitschuh, his step father Robert B. Leitschuh and his stepbrother Michael Leitschuh.

Drew always had a rescued dog (or two) by his side. With that in mind, the family would like to suggest memorials be made to a humane dog shelter/rescue agency of your choice.

Special thanks to the NICU staff at Methodist Hospital as well as his kind and generous friends: Buddy and Bonnie Goodwin, Virgil and Mary Hoye, Will Thomas, George and Judy Willingham, Chief Eric Kaiser and the kind hearted staff at Atascosa County Animal Control.

A memorial will be held on June 3 in Racine, WI.
