Amelia Castillo, age 73, of San Antonio, and formerly of Pleasanton, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 in San Antonio. She was born in Charlotte, and enjoyed shopping, yard work, gardening and dressing up. Amelia always enjoyed attending parties, playing bingo and dominos. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Eleuterio Teyo Castillo of San Antonio; sons, Ernest Rangel and Jadyn Matthew Castillo, and daughter, Annie Rangel. Amelia is also survived by her brother, Avelardo Lalo Casias and wife Tommie of Rosenburg; grandchildren, Katie Rodriguez and her husband Jacob, Sr. and Cassandra Velasquez and her husband Jason, and great grandchildren, Jacob Rodriguez, Jr., Miranda Mancha and Gabriella Velasquez.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Natividad (Martinez) Casias, and sisters, Guadalupe Aguirre and Victoria Gonzales.
Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton, from 4 – 9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., Monday, March 20. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 626 Market Street, Pleasanton at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 21. Interment followed at Casias Cemetery, near Rossville.
