Alleged vehicle thieves caught

On Monday afternoon, Deputy Sheriff Peter Allen received a tip on the whereabouts of a stolen car taken from a convenience store in Poteet on Sunday. Poteet police had issued an All Points Bulletin on the auto.

Deputy Sheriff Allen responded to the Primrose Subdivision and spotted the allegedly stolen car parked in a back yard behind a trailer home. Deputy Allen, assisted by Sergeant Investigator Jesse Martinez, recovered the Pontiac and arrested two suspects at the location.

Frederick Sullivan, age 26, and Joshua Staggs, age 27, were arrested for Felony Theft (Vehicle) and Staggs was also charged with Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia.

Both suspects have been booked into the Atascosa County Jail. The case will be referred back to the Poteet Police Department.
