The state comptroller’s office has released May’s city sales tax revenue.
Jourdanton sees the largest percentage increase at 58.36 percent, receiving a net payment of $117,557.66 while Pleasanton sees the biggest sales tax rebate this month, once again, receiving $411,766.46, up 7.63 percent from May 2017’s $382,570.99. Charlotte and Lytle also see big gains this month with percentage increases of 23.72 percent and 10.72 percent. Poteet saw a slight increase of 8.15 percent this month.
The monthly Atascosa County sales and use tax allocations see an increase payment of 53.11 percent with a net payment of $715,341.83. In May 2017, Atascosa County had a net payment of $467,200.73. Atascosa County received the biggest net payment this year compared to the surrounding counties of Bee, Frio, Karnes and Medina. Frio County saw the largest percentage increase with 112.56 percent this month.
“I am thrilled to see our revenue going up,” said Atascosa County Judge Bob Hurley, “I have seen it both ways and I assure you up is better than down! I intend to bank as much of this increase as possible. I am very thankful for these numbers!”
