Alice Popham

Alice Ann Krauskopf Popham passed away March 28, 2018, at the age of 79 years, 4 months, and 28 days.

Alice was born October 31, 1938 in Karnes City, Texas to Emil and Rosie Krauskopf.  She was raised in Campbellton, Texas and graduated from Pleasanton High school.  After she married Nelton Popham on February 9, 1957, in Pleasanton, the couple made their home in Floresville.

Alice was a loving mother and Mamaw, and will be remembered for her saying that she “Loved you too much,” and “Can you get me through this level of Candy Crush baby?”.  Alice was a licensed LVN and loved to help people feel better.  After retiring from the Floresville School District, she went back to school to become a licensed Massage Therapist.

Survivors include her son, Jud Popham; daughter, Kim Boening, and son-in-law, Mike Boening; grandchildren, Dustin Popham, Jarred and wife Sudie Popham, Madeline Boening, McKenzie Boening, and Maverick Boening; great granddaughter, Charlotte; her three fur babies, Prissy, Sadie and Tom; her siblings, Emma Jo and husband Al Immekus, Jean Raisner, Ricky and wife Sandra Krauskopf, Debbie and husband Frank Gentry, and Shelia and husband George Garza; her sister-in-law, Debbie Krauskopf; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.  Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Nelton; her father, Emil; her mother, Rosie; and her brother, Emil Jr.

The funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville, with Pastor Chris Kirkham of the Cowboy Fellowship of Wilson County officiating.  Clifton Jansky sang at the service, followed by a poem written by Alice’s late mother-in-law, Lilly Popham, read by granddaughter, McKenzie Boening, and the reading of  “The Twenty-Third Psalm” by Madeline Boening.  Interment followed at Floresville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers included Dustin Popham, Jarred Popham, Maverick Boening, Darren Orth, Aaron Walls, and Larry Smith.
