Alfred C. Sotello of Pleasanton passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the age of 88. He was born in Pleasanton on March 20, 1928 to Daniel, Sr. and Melchora Sotelo.
Alfred is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Olivia G. Sotello; children, Victoria Abraham and husband Sid of Rincon, Georgia, Diane Saenz and husband Amado of Robstown, Josann Hinte and husband Shane of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Thomas Sotello and wife Angie of Pleasanton, Alfred Sotello, Jr. of Pleasanton, Teresa M. Hart of Pleasanton, George Sotello and wife Sheila of Spring Branch, Rachel M. Bily of Livingston, Sam Sotello and wife Glynda of Pleasanton and Alice Genzer and husband David of San Antonio; sisters, Aurora Hilburn of Collinsville, Mississippi and Minnie Torres and husband David of Jacksonville, Florida. Alfred is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel, Sr. and Melchora (Castillo) Sotelo; brothers, Johnny Sotello, Arthur Sotelo amd Daniel Sotelo; sisters, Pauline Garcia, Eva Arguijo and Beatrice Silva and beloved son-in-law Gerald George Bily.
Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton on Tuesday, August 9 from 2 – 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be led by Father Gilberto Vallejo on Wednesday, August 10 at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 626 Market Street in Pleasanton. Interment will follow at Sotello Cemetery on Corgey Road.
