Alex C. Gonzalez Jr. of Pleasanton went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 in Pleasanton. He was born Tuesday, December 9, 1930 in San Antonio to Alex and Amparo (Cuellar) Gonzalez Sr.

Alex served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was also a career printer. He was involved in many areas of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in San Antonio. Alex will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Alex is survived by his sons, Mario Leyva, Johnny Leyva, David Gonzalez and Alex Gonzalez III; daughters, Connie Leyva, Lidia Salinas and Becky Benavides; brother, Humberto Gonzalez and sister, Amparo Martinez. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Alex was preceded in death by his son, Rudy Gonzalez, and parents, Alex and Amparo Gonzalez.

Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home, 118 W. Oaklawn in Pleasanton on Monday, November 5 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., with a rosary that was recited at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 626 Market Street in Pleasanton on Monday, November 5 at 10 a.m. Services were concluded after the Mass at the church.
