The Charlotte football team hit the road for its first away game of the season Friday, but could not come away with the same success it had at home in its opener.
The Trojans (1-1) fell to Agua Dulce 27-14 at Bud Bailey Stadium.
Senior Matt Love pulled Charlotte within 14-12 with a 40-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter, but the Longhorns had enough time to answer before halftime.
Agua Dulce scored its third touchdown of the game 31 seconds before halftime to put the Longhorns ahead 21-12.
The Trojans added a safety in the third quarter but would not get closer than seven points.
Charlotte finished with 279 rushing yards. Cameron Orduna led the Trojans with 114 yards on 12 carries. Love rushed 11 times for 106 yards.
Jevon Santos was 4-for- 9 passing for 19 yards and an interception. He added 35 rushing yards.
Charlotte will host Leakey at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Trojans’ homecoming game.
The Eagles (0-2) beat the Trojans 41-0 in 2016 but are coming off a 21-7 loss to Sabinal on Friday.
