The Poteet football team ended its season with a bang on Friday.
The Aggies blasted Lytle 40-6 at home to finish the year 3-7 overall.
Poteet scored the first 14 points of the game and led 26-6 at halftime.
Aggies quarterback Daryn Garza had three TD passes, the first a 47-yarder to Sonny Orozco to open the scoring.
Eric Treviño extended the early lead with a 4-yard scoring run in the second quarter.
After the Pirates got on the board, Poteet scored twice in the final 47 seconds of the first half.
Juan Benites had a 25-yard rushing TD, and Garza connected with Treviño as time expired for a 48-yard scoring pass.
Orozco added a 43-yard TD run in the third quarter, and Shaun Gilliam hauled in a 4-yard scoring pass from Garza just before the fourth quarter.
The Aggies defense held Lytle to 216 yards and forced four turnovers.
Poteet racked up 461 yards of offense, including 273 on the ground.
Garza went 7-for-7 passing for 163 yards.
Senior running back Anthony Ambriz led the Aggies with 106 rushing yards on 13 carries.
